Report Considerations:

At times a Xukor researcher may encounter a company that prohibits the release of the employee’s employment information. In most cases, the company will verify the candidate’s job title and dates of employment. Our researchers attempt every avenue to gain as much information as possible. In the event that a company follows a strict company policy to only confirm dates and title of employment, additional questions are asked, especially the reason for separation and an overall recommendation. Each report will address the efforts involved and how the information was obtained.

In some cases reference sources may not return our telephone calls and messages. Despite our best attempts, a Xukor representative will always call and leave a minimum of four messages that detail the reason for our call. Should we discover that a reference source is traveling, ill, or for some reason not available, Xukor will notify the client of the circumstance and provide the information gathered up until that date.

Employment references can provide you with in-depth information about an applicant's work history, productivity and overall work ethic. Our references vary in detail based on the type of position and specific job functions. Our researchers interview each applicant's former supervisors to determine the applicant's job responsibilities, performance, skills, cooperation, and reliability. A job function summary covering six key areas is offered which includes: technical skills, supervisory practices, communications, functional performance, operational disciplines and interpersonal disciplines. Two of the most common areas of inaccuracies on a resume are the dates of employment and false degrees. A researcher will contact and verify the information concerning the subject’ employment history through the Personnel/Human Resources Department via telephone contact. Xukor will attempt to obtain inforation regarding the name of the employer, dates employed, job title(s) held, eligibility for rehire, the reason for leaving and any other pertinent job-related details. Xukor will contact a recent/current employer if the candidate indicates approval. Xukor will verify and compare the dates with any additional information and report any discrepancies found. A Xukor researcher will contact and verify the candidate’s highest educational experience or degree claimed. Telephone contact is made by Xukor directly to the registrar or student records office. Some verification includes the following: name of institution, dates of attendance, date of graduation, degree obtained, and the type or field of study. If the candidate is currently enrolled, an inquiry is made of their student status, including dates of attendance, date of planned graduation, credits earned and field of study. Another common area of resume falsification is of professional licenses and certifications. Xukor will contact the appropriate individuals within the licensing agency and/or company and verify the date of receipt and type of license and or certification claimed.
